This class is for you if you know how to make cyanotype prints and you have a project in mind. What you want to make is up to you but it could be a series of themed prints for an exhibit, prints for a handmade book, making large negatives for a large print, creating cyanotype fabric for a clothing or quilt project are just a few ideas.
We will meet each week for 3 hours, over the course of 4 weeks. Participants will have access to UV exposure units, cyanotype chemistry, watercolor paper, brushes, printers and printing on inkjet transparencies. During the first class each participant will present their ideas and what they want to achieve. Instructor Susan Murie will demonstrate equipment usage and guide the class through the various processes needed for the projects as well as help each participant achieve their project by talking through ideas, materials and processes and consulting reference materials. Participants should bring any special materials such as fabric, special papers, paints and other art materials.
