Chine Collé Workshop
With Megan Cascella
1 day, Friday
March 21st, 10 - 2
Cost: $55
8 participants maximum

Chine collé is a process traditionally used to adhere a thin, delicate paper to a thicker, western paper using a layer of adhesive and the pressure of an etching press. This technique can be used to reinforce prints made on asian papers, or as a way to add in drops of color to an etching or lithograph. In the world of chine collé, there are lots of different papers, adhesives, and techniques that artists can use to create their chine collé prints. During this workshop the instructor will demonstrate a variety of different techniques, discuss glue options, and methods of registering. The first 2 hours of the workshop will be mainly demonstration based, and for the second half participants are encouraged to bring their own projects so that we might work through a solution with the group, otherwise small samples will be provided for participants to try out some of the chine collé techniques we will cover.

All levels welcome. Free parking is provided.
