Watercolor monotype combines the fluid effects of watercolor painting with the controlled aspects of printmaking, creating a dynamic single edition artwork. In this one day workshop we will be using a variety of watercolor media to build up our images on a variety of plates. We will then run the plates through a Takach etching press, as well as exploring printing without a press. At the end of the workshop participants will have a small collection of singular prints showcasing the many textures and tones that watercolor monotypes can exhibit.

A bonus of watercolor monotype plates is that you can work on your plate virtually anywhere and bring it back to your studio/work space to print. This workshop is for all levels of printmaking and watercolor enthusiasts.

Materials are provided but participants are encouraged to bring their own brushes, watercolor paints, and water soluble drawing materials.
