In this two-day workshop we delve deeper into ways you can turn laminated food and beverage cartons into versatile printing plates by using drypoint and mediums to modify the printing surface. Come learn how cartons found in your trash or recycling can be transformed with drypoint and varied mark making strategies into a strata with a lot of possibilities. This class is suitable for those new to printmaking as well as those looking to explore another technique.

Tools that are helpful to have for this workshop are scissors, x-acto knife, and an etching needle tool. Cartons will be provided but if you have your own saved bring them along! Containers of interest are juice or milk cartons and containers marked with Tetra Pak (shelf stable food and beverage items’ packaging).
