Polymer photogravure is a modern take on the traditional copperplate photogravure process. In this workshop we’ll produce intaglio prints from digital images using photo-sensitive polymer plates. By blending the best of modern technologies and materials with traditional craft, we will produce stunning hand-pulled intaglio prints, moving quickly from image to final print. As we work, each of you will create your own photo-etching plates, completing each step of the process, from file preparation to final print. The workshop will serve as an introduction to those who have never used photopolymer plates, or for those who have learned other methods of photo-etching and want to broaden their skills. You will connect with an instructor who is committed to your success and will help you continue printing once the class is finished. You will not need a lot of Photoshop experience, but some familiarity with the program is required, as is a laptop with Photoshop installed.
