Multiple Dates available:

Cost: $500 +$55 materials fee
Continue building your photogravure skills through two focused days of guided studio practice.
Designed for participants who have completed Photogravure I or have equivalent experience this workshop provides additional hands-on time with image preparation, plate making, inking, wiping, and printing. The emphasis will be on improving consistency, solving common problems, and developing greater confidence at each stage of the process.
Participants will work with their own photographs and create new plates and prints with individual guidance from Ralph. There will also be introductory demonstrations of two approaches to adding tone, color and variation to photogravure prints: chine collé and à la poupée inking.
This workshop is ideal for anyone who understands the basic process but would benefit from more practice before undertaking a larger or more technically ambitious project. By the end of the workshop, participants will have strengthened their core skills, explored introductory color techniques, and be better prepared to continue printing independently or enroll in Photogravure III.
