Discover how a photograph can be transformed into a hand-inked and hand-pulled
intaglio print.

In this hands-on introductory workshop, participants will create photogravure plates from their own photographs, including images made with a phone. Using light-sensitive photopolymer plates, contemporary digital tools, and traditional printmaking methods, we will move step by step from image preparation to plate making, inking, wiping, and printing.
Each participant will prepare an image, make an etching plate, and print it on the studio press. The small class size allows for individual guidance throughout the process.
This workshop is designed for people who are new to photogravure, as well as printmakers who have experience with other photographic or photo-etching methods.

No advanced photography or Photoshop experience is required. By the end of the workshop, participants will understand the complete direct-to-plate photopolymer gravure process and have the foundation needed to continue printing independently or move on to Photogravure II.
