Class will cover topics from applying hard ground to a copper plate and the use of ferric chloride to etch an image into the plate to what is aquatint, and how to use it to create tonal effects. Finally, we will cover drypoint, and the tools used in intaglio printmaking. In addition, students will be introduced to some monotype techniques that allow adding color in quick and expressive ways. Bring your ideas and drawings and see them transformed into prints. The instructor will work with each student to help them develop their ideas.
