Gel plate printing fun and experimental mono printing process that yields exciting prints - no press required. The gel plate is an immersive and expressive process for creating collage papers, bookmaking, journaling as well as a final mono prints. Even the most simple methods can result overlays of colors and patterns. All levels of experience and curiosity are welcomed.
This workshop is designed for anyone new to the gel plate or wanting to explore additional techniques for their art tool box. We will start with some basic methods and explore mark making, stenciling, resists and transfers, building unique prints with multiple layering.
Materials will be provided for use in class: Gel plates, brayers and paint, papers, mark-making and other tools.
Optional but helpful: spiral sketchbook or any loose paint or printed papers for brayer roll-offs which can product wonderful collage papers as well.
Deb Drummond is an abstract artist with an illustration and design background. Her work is primarily focused on non-objective abstraction in acrylic, collage and mono printing. Her work is in private and corporate collections. She shares her approach teaching workshops in the NE area.
All levels welcome.
