With Catarina Coelho
2 days: Saturday & Sunday
October 3rd & 4th from 10 AM - 4 PM
6 participants maximum
Cost: $350
This workshop focuses on color theory for printmakers and the subtractive color system. Participants will be guided through a fundamental color program that introduces color mixing with oil-based inks, demonstrates the use of ink modifiers, and builds a practical understanding of color relationships in printmaking.
Through a series of monotype layering exercises, participants will investigate the essential principles of color printing, including monochrome and value, color temperature, saturation, complementary color relationships, two-color palettes, color triads, disparate tones, and the interplay of texture and chroma. The goal of this workshop is to help printmakers develop fluency with color while encouraging experimentation beyond traditional palettes.
