Analog Silkscreen: Image Positives by Hand
with Megan Cascella

2 days: Saturday & Sunday
September 26th & 27th, from 10 AM - 4 PM
6 participants maximum
Cost: $250

Learn the basics of silkscreen printmaking - using exclusively analog methods of image making. No computers or printers required! Using paint markers, china markers, india ink, cut paper shapes, and rubylith we can create image positives the old-fashioned way without the interloper of modern technology (or the need for a very expensive printer).

Beginners are welcome as students will learn the basis of silkscreen printing including burning a screen, setting up systems for registration, printing, and (of course) cleaning. The image size we will be working with is 8.5 x 11.

Participants are asked to bring:
-a pad of 9x12 Graphix Duralar Wet Media Film
-a 8.5 x 11 image or drawing to reference
-assorted brushes, pens, or pencils for planning

An assortment of the following light-blocking drawing materials will be provided, but students are welcome to bring along their own. Most of these materials can be purchased from Blick, Amazon, or MarkerSupply.com

-Posca brand black paint markers
-Sakura Permaopaque Black markers
-Black China Markers (Sharpie brand) or or grease pencils
-ZIG Opaque pens
- Black Acrylic Paint (any brand)
- India Ink
- Rubylith

All levels welcome. Free parking is provided.
